What changed, and what it means for your order

A running record of what the official PonyBuy pages say, when we last read them, and which step of your order each one affects.

What the official pages say right now

  1. 01

Storage stays at 90 days freeaffects step 5

Counted from the stored status. The help centre is explicit that goods past the window with no delivery order and no response are considered given up and destroyed. Plan a parcel around your earliest stored item, not your latest order.

  2. 02

The fee formula is unchanged and still publishedaffects steps 3 and 7

Item cost plus international shipping plus customs charges, with the declaration cost given as generally 8 yuan per parcel depending on shipping method. An agent that publishes its arithmetic is easier to plan around than one quoting a single percentage.

  3. 03

Insurance covers delay, seizure and lossaffects step 8

Delay cover returns 20 per cent of shipping on certain routes past 30 to 40 days from dispatch. Route eligibility is shown on the estimator rather than assumed, which is worth checking before you pick a line.

  4. 04

1688 goods are checked to a different standardaffects step 5

Stated in the Beginner's Guide. If a product link points at a 1688 listing, expect wholesale packaging and a different inspection bar than a Taobao consumer listing.

  5. 05

Customs guidance names the commercial parcel triggersaffects step 6

Weight over 10 kg and excessive quantities of the same item are both named as raising the chance of commercial treatment. This is the clearest official statement we have found on when to split a consolidation.

What we changed here

This site is maintained rather than published once. Changes to the guide itself are logged so you can see what is current.

  1. 10 October 2026

Added a search box to the home page and seven new topics: how to read the quality check photos, how to pick a listing, how to judge a seller, how to judge an agent, what differs between agents, how to tell a maintained product list from an abandoned one, and what PonyBuy is running right now. The inspection scope, the storage clock, the service charge page and the same-seller delivery rule were all re-read from the help centre before writing, and the home page announcement slots were captured on the day. Nothing already on the site turned out to be wrong.

  2. 3 August 2026

Rebuilt around category browsing. An earlier draft of this site treated "spreadsheet" as though it meant a literal file, which is both wrong and confusing: it is a product list you browse on a website.

  3. 3 August 2026

Re-counted the product list instead of trusting the figure this site used to quote, which had not been updated in years. Counting the list's own sitemap gives 27,715 product pages, several times the old number. We re-count each quarter rather than let a figure go stale on the page.

  4. 3 August 2026

Replaced generic stock imagery with PonyBuy's own interface screens and step illustrations, so what you see here matches what you will see when you order.

  5. Next review, November 2026

Fees, storage terms, insurance cover and customs guidance are re-read quarterly. If something has moved, this page changes first.

How we check, and what we will not print

Every factual claim on this site traces to a page on ponybuy.com that we read on a stated date. Where the company states something about itself that we cannot verify, such as its customer count, we leave it out rather than repeat it.

We do not print shipping prices, delivery estimates for your specific route, or tax figures for your country. Those change constantly and vary by address, so a number printed on a guide page is wrong more often than it is right. The estimator answers those questions with live data.

We also do not reprint a saving figure as though it were yours. The official combine example is three specific parcels on one specific route. The calculator runs that same arithmetic on the weights you actually have, which is the only version worth reading.

04

How to spot a maintained spreadsheet, and an abandoned one

A product list is only as good as the week it was last touched. Shops close, listings get pulled, a batch changes and the photograph quietly stops matching what arrives. None of that announces itself on the page.

The quickest way to tell is to make the list prove something. Open three cards at random and see whether all three still reach a live listing; two dead out of three means nobody has swept it in months. Look for a number that somebody actually counted rather than inherited, and for the date they counted it. The count on this guide is 27,715 product pages, read off the sitemap of the list itself on 3 August 2026, and we take it again rather than letting the figure drift.

Then look for a person. A guide with an address you can write to has somebody answerable for it; one with only a contact form does not. The log on this page is the rest of that answer, because every change we have made is in it with the day we made it.

What PonyBuy is running right now

The home page keeps three slots for official announcements, and on 10 October 2026 they held the affiliate programme, the Beginner's Guide and an invitation to the Discord. The middle slot is a carousel with six dots under it, so what you see there depends on when you arrive.

There was no discount campaign in any of the three on that date, and we would rather say that than leave a coupon figure on this page to go stale. A new user coupon amount in particular is campaign dependent, so the only honest place to read it is the banner itself.

We check this slot when we update the log below. If a current campaign is worth knowing about, it will appear there with the date we saw it.
